Based in Pulaski, Virginia, Dignified has been providing non-emergency medical transportation to seniors, those with mobility and memory care issues, various hospitals, nursing facilities, and retirement communities throughout the Blacksburg-Christiansburg Metro Area.
Founded by an experienced and dedicated business owner, Reva Otey, inspiration for Dignified Transport Service came from the growing needs of area seniors. Recognizing that 1 in 5 Virginians is 65 or older and only increasing, it wasn’t difficult to determine the need for increased transportation and associated support services for area seniors.
Since launching with a single ambulatory vehicle in 2020, Dignified has expanded to offering wheelchair and stretcher transportation. In supporting various hospitals, emergency rooms, skilled nursing and rehabilitation facilities, Dignified regularly travels throughout southern Virginia, into West Virginia and northern North Carolina.
Unlike other services operating as a curb-to-curb service, Dignified is committed to safely escorting patients and residents from your facility to a clean, comfortable, ADA compliant vehicle. When traveling to an appointment, our trained staff will escort patients and residents to check-in.

To provide our clients with a unique, cost effective, and reliable transportation solution that meets individual needs while accommodating facility policies and concerns. We accomplish our Mission through:

We are continuously striving to implement effective strategies for enhanced training, integrated technologies, and managerial support and communication. Because we provide local and long-distance transportation, effective planning and communication between dispatch and key facilities is paramount.
We continuously work on enhancing our scheduling and traffic management in an effort to reduce travel and wait times while increasing efficiency. We work to adapt and implement policies and procedures to support our mission, to analyze and advise on transportation issues, evaluate scheduling conflicts, negotiate and correspond with carriers, vendors, and strategic partners.
Dispatchers will receive extensive instruction on using our technological integration systems designed to support our growing scheduling and logistical demands. Dispatchers are responsible for the following:
- Customer intake
- Preparation of daily schedules and trip manifests
- Effective driver management and scheduling
- Trip management and oversight
- Coordination with facility personnel
